Job Title: Aircraft certification lead - ETOPS
Location: Everett, WA

Job Description:

ETOPS Certification Compliance:

Manage and coordinate the certification of aircraft for ETOPS operations, ensuring compliance with regulatory bodies such as the FAA, EASA, and other aviation authorities.

Prepare and submit necessary documentation for ETOPS approvals, including certification plans, compliance checklists, and detailed reports.

Collaborate with the aircraft manufacturer and other stakeholders to ensure that all design, maintenance, and operational procedures align with ETOPS requirements.

Risk Analysis and Safety Assessments:

Conduct ETOPS-related risk analysis and safety assessments for aircraft systems, performance, and maintenance programs.

Evaluate aircraft systems' redundancy and reliability to ensure they meet the specific ETOPS requirements for extended flight durations.

Analyse and address any potential safety concerns related to ETOPS operations and recommend corrective actions or system modifications.

Regulatory Liaison and Documentation:

Serve as the primary point of contact for regulatory authorities during the ETOPS certification process.

Work with local and international regulatory agencies to ensure all certification criteria are met and that all necessary approvals are obtained in a timely manner.

Prepare and manage the submission of required reports, documentation, and amendments related to ETOPS compliance.

Operational Support:

Provide ongoing support to the flight operations and maintenance teams to ensure that ETOPS requirements are integrated into the aircraft's operating procedures and maintenance programs.

Review flight logs, performance data, and maintenance records to ensure continued compliance with ETOPS requirements.

Recommend improvements to ETOPS-related processes and systems to enhance safety, efficiency, and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications:

 

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in Aeronautical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.

 

Experience:

Minimum of 15 years of experience in aviation certification, preferably in aircraft ETOPS certification processes.

Participation in past “Early ETOPS” certification efforts

In-depth knowledge of aviation regulations, particularly 14CFR Part 25 Appendix K ETOPS.

Experience with aircraft systems, reliability assessments, and maintenance programs related to extended operations.

 

Required Skills:

Regulatory Experience (FAA/EASA Interaction, Compliance/Non-compliance, ETOPS familiarity)

Strong knowledge of Aircraft Systems, Flight Test Experience and Certification Experience

Change Process/DAE Knowledge, Safety Experience (FTA, Safety assessment/review, COSP process)

Human Factors, Maintenance Operations and Crew Operations Experience.

 
Compensation: $110,000.00 - $130,000.00 per year
